A Historical Note

The Hythe Club Company Limited was founded on 6th May 1914, with the Registered Company number is 135641 with 1000 shares in issue. The Founders of the Club were local businessmen with the purpose and objective to provide a premises for social enjoyment, including snooker. The club has been in continuous operation since 1914, despite the fact that the world was at war just 3 months after the club was originally established and operational. 

 

Today, as the Club enters its 110th year, it continues to operate very much in accordance with its original purpose. The company is managed by a non-trading board of directors, comprising long-standing members and shareholders, who continue to be mindful of the original hopes and aspirations of the founders, and take responsibility to manage and safeguard the assets of the company.

 

Over the years, investments have been made continuously to modernise and maintain the club facilities. The Members Club occupy the premises under a lease arrangement and the day-to-day operational management of the Club is delegated to a Committee of Members.
